BRUCE MCCREA
HEAD OF SENIORS
Bruce’s prep school journey has taken him from Surrey to Kenya and finally to Great Walstead, where he has been inspiring pupils since 2011. A lover of history, the outdoors and all things Q-Day, he thrives on adventure, curiosity and building memories children never forget.
Lover of legends, learning and wide-open space
Bruce believes the Great Walstead grounds are a gift, and nothing brings him more joy than seeing pupils run freely across them. From break-time games to cricket on the lawn and the excitement of Q-Day in the woods, outdoor life is where school magic happens.
A real-world storyteller
When Bruce is not teaching or coaching, you will likely find him with a non-fiction book in hand. He loves real stories, historic characters and uncovering strange truths. He has even walked through the famous black door at Number 10 during a summer job.
Dream jobs and real passions
If not a teacher, Bruce might have followed family tradition into the police force, or perhaps become a cricket-writing sports journalist. Instead, he chose a life where he can share his favourite subjects daily and watch pupils discover passions of their own.
