Our Unique Environment
An environment made for curious explorers.
At Great Walstead Pre-School, every day brings new opportunities to play, explore and discover. Whether it’s collecting leaves in the woods, reading stories in the Treehouse, or planting seeds in the garden, our youngest children learn best when they’re outdoors, hands-on and having fun.
TREEHOUSE
The Treehouse is one of our most magical spaces. Tucked away beneath the trees, it’s a calm, shaded spot where children can enjoy story time, share books with friends or simply listen to the sounds of nature. It’s a perfect place to slow down and fall in love with reading.
Secret Garden
Just a short walk from the main school site, our beautiful Victorian walled garden is a much-loved part of Pre-School life. Here, children dig, plant and explore the seasons, learning about growth, change and how to care for living things in a hands-on way.
woodland walks
Most days, whatever the weather, our Pre-School children head out into the woods for their woodland walks. These sessions offer freedom, fresh air and plenty of space to explore safely. The woods encourage creativity, teamwork and a connection with the natural world, all while having fun.
What’s Mud π all about?
From erosion in action on the edge of a stream to peaceful poetry under a tree we maximise our environment, bringing lessons to life.
