Wellbeing
From Home to School: A Family Who Cares
At Great Walstead, wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We work closely with families to ensure every child feels known, valued and supported, building confidence, resilience and a strong sense of belonging that underpins every part of school life.
The formative school years are full of discovery, curiosity and excitement, but they can also bring moments of uncertainty. At Great Walstead, we believe wellbeing is the foundation for everything else, and we work closely with families to ensure every child feels secure, supported and understood.
We take the time to know each child as an individual: their interests, quirks and the things that make them tick. Our dedicated tutor system provides space for open conversations, helping children develop friendships, resilience and confidence in who they are.
Strong communication between home and school is at the heart of this. We see parents as partners in their child’s journey and hold regular information sessions to explore topics that matter most to families. These might include managing screen time, navigating early technology use or supporting emotional development at home.
Together, we create an environment where children feel safe to take risks, make mistakes and grow, knowing that they are cared for by a community that understands them.
Together, we create a community where children feel safe, confident and ready to face every new challenge with curiosity, kindness and courage.
