Pre-School
See how the adventure begins
Nestled in beautiful West Sussex countryside, Great Walstead offers an exceptional Pre-School environment. Children (from 2.5 years old) have space to explore and learn through play with our unique teaching & learning approach.
Happy children learn best by being active explorers both inside and outside. Our light and spacious classrooms are treasure troves of fun equipment and toys designed to enrich the learning experience and support your child's development. We provide resources and activities which are both stimulating and challenging, and where enjoyment and fun are linked to discovery and learning.
We’re passionate about outdoor play and make full use of our purpose built outdoor learning area, Forest School and 265 acres of woodland. They provide an endless variety of teaching opportunities.
Here, children can fill their lungs with fresh air while they build dens, play in the mud kitchen, explore the huge covered sandpit or try their hand at gardening. Not to mention stories in the tree house or around the campfire. All children take part in outdoor learning sessions and have the most amazing adventures in our wonderful woodland and ‘Secret Garden’.
In addition to having their own dedicated and secure play areas, Pre-School children have access to the main school's full range of facilities which include the Music School and Performing Arts Centre.
Toddler Club
Our Sports Hall balcony is a light, open, secure space for Toddler Club. Meet other parents and enjoy a cuppa while your little ones explore new toys and activities.
A setting that sets us apart
Outdoor learning facilities take centre stage at Great Walstead. From Forest School to charity fun runs to marshmallows over a campfire, we all make full use of this incredible resource.
A smooth transition
Children moving from Pre-School to our newly renovated Reception space only have a small step to take, both physically and emotionally. There’s a buzz of excitement when the time comes to take it.
