Our unique environment
An incredible resource full of hidden treasures
Whether it’s pondering an equation in the dappled shade of a tree, perfecting butterfly under the sliding roof of our pool or harvesting strawberries from the Victorian walled garden, we take great joy from our unique environment.
expansive grounds
Our expansive grounds here at Great Walstead mean that we have a huge outdoor classroom, which is in constant use. Home to nature trails, eco-school and our very own half-marathon, our woods are the soul of our school.
Victorian walled garden
Our Victorian walled garden is just five minutes from the main school site. It’s the central hub for Outdoor Education and an open resource to every department in the school.
woodland walks
Pre-School and Pre-Prep use the woods for walks every week. This allows children vital space for free play in a secure but open setting, an activity that’s crucial for their emotional and social development.
What’s Mud π all about?
From erosion in action on the edge of a stream to peaceful poetry under a tree we maximise our environment, bringing lessons to life.
