Years 7 & 8
Preparing for senior school
As our children approach the end of their Walstead adventure in Year 7 and 8, we work closely with families to help decide which senior school(s) may offer the best fit. We are skilled and experienced in this process, offering a whole host of services and support.
Finding the right senior school is a very important part of what we do at Great Walstead. It’s a big decision. The majority of our pupils move on to our local senior schools and we have developed very strong links with schools such as Ardingly, Brighton College, Bede’s, Eastbourne, Hurstpierpoint College and Worth School. This means we are well versed in the admissions process to each school.
Parents are supported through this process by a combination of information evenings as well as one-to-one meetings with the headmaster. We help identify the schools we feel would be a good fit for your child and talk you through the process. It’s a competitive process and many of our pupils will have up to three different options of schools.
We prepare children for their online assessment and provide interview practice before they go for their final assessments. The headmaster is always available to talk to parents and help them with any questions they have about this exciting next step.
