Our Ethos

Children are born creative, curious and imaginative. It’s a wonderful thing – and we do everything we can to keep these traits alive. We nurture a love of learning, a thirst for discovery and desire to be creative, so making sense of the world is always fun and exciting.

The book 'Educating Ruby' by Guy Claxton and Bill Lucas inspires our teaching. Like us, they believe that school shouldn’t just be about examination results. Of course, they’re important, but developing character alongside the curriculum is the secret to a well-rounded education.

Be curious

Never stop asking questions. Say “Why?”, “How” and “What if?” a million times to begin a trillion magical adventures. Curiosity will feed your mind and imagination, open new doors and lead you down exciting paths.

Be curious

Be confident

You’re brilliant just the way you are. So believe in yourself, be brave and always have a go! Don’t worry about making mistakes – they’re all part of the journey, teaching you a world of wonderful things.

Be confident

Communicate

Everyone’s got a story to tell, an opinion and something interesting to say. So listen – you will learn from them. Make sure you share your brilliant thoughts too, as they’re equally valuable. Communication is a dance and you’re busy learning the steps.

Communicate

Collaborate

Variety is the spice of life, so good job we’re all so different! Let’s celebrate our unique differences and strengths, and include everyone. No one should ever be left out. We can do astonishing things when we pull together as a team.

Collaborate

Be creative

Children see magic because they look for it. So keep seeing the world in a million different ways. Don’t be afraid to think for yourself, explore ideas (no matter how weird or wonderful), and let your imagination run free – and fly.

Be creative

Stay committed

Things can get tough and you won’t always succeed first time. But try, try and try again. Keep pushing through even when things get difficult. Your true ability will shine through and your achievement will feel all the greater.

Stay committed

Show craftsmanship

Whatever you do each day, do it with all your heart. Pour passion and enthusiasm into your work, take pride in the detail – and give yourself the time and space to do your very best.
